That's the Spirit...!!!

"That's the Spirit...This is what I expect from you....!!!

I suppose these aren’t a new line for any of the professionals. Every now and then every one of us comes across this line to be reminded for our potential and for obvious motivation. In every business affairs and procedure, right from budgeting for any project, planning, setting up any Sales target or Scaling up the business, commencement and most importantly execution of project, "That's the spirit" is believed to be that magical line which most bosses rely more than anything else as if perfect blueprint of execution is not as important as delivering hypothetical rounds of speech in keeping the team motivated. Specifically, for the organisations who deal in numbers and data, it is quite difficult to clarify the meaning of these lines. Sometime even it becomes tougher for the boss to figure out spirit for what? Is that figure and target feasible?

When there’s a job to be done, sustaining support and maintaining motivation within your team is crucial to the outcome of any project. It can be extremely difficult to keep up momentum going, on top of managing a mission. Climbing a mountain could be an individual effort but if you are targeting Mount Everest, collating and directing team with clear guidance and mentoring remains the only option to succeed. So, I believe to follow these simple steps and the enthusiasm – and final result - will remain possibly high.

1.  Organised way of working - Well! Who wants to mess up their work and then viciousness getting maximized between the messed up jobs. Better to avoid any kind of stress and keep all your work process regularized, your mail box updated in respective folders and figuring out the work to be allotted to the team as per priority.

2. Create a buzz - One of the most effective ways to motivate your team is to, not only to set an end goal, but generate a real buzz around it. We need to explain the benefits to achieving the project and show you are genuinely excited about it. By creating a hype your positive air will spread through the team and results will be far better if they are eager too.

3. Clarify - Being a boss, we usually don't care to keep everything clarifying to the team members. It is utmost important to have a clear, final objective, ensuring each member is fully briefed and recognizes the part they specifically play. We should also invite the team to express opinion, to encourage openness and aiding project management by allowing for potential boundaries.

4. Communication with Team - It is important to keep yourselves accessible to your team. There would be lots of issue, doubts team might have or guidance anticipated by them, which could be addressed by being accessible to the team members. Precisely, think of being one among the team. If any negative thought arises, be assure, your result going to be affected. New project and new challenges might leave your team clueless and could act like a demotivating event.

5. Appreciation - Good work should always be appreciated. From smaller recognition to larger rewards, it’s easier to keep the team motivated if they know they’re appreciated.

If we cannot ensure success, we can plan to minimise the risk of failure.
